Adult and Youth Programs Impacted Through Local $10,000 Gift

Pawnee Mental Health is thrilled to announce a grant from UCare, a leading independent, nonprofit health plan, in partnership with Wheat State Healthcare, a behavioral health management organization to enhance our Adult and Youth Community Services programs and create new opportunities for growth and development.

Pawnee’s Community Services offer vital support for youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) and adults with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI).

“Our goal is to help individuals manage their symptoms and overcome challenges to lead fulfilling lives. Often, individuals with mental illness come to us in need of these services, but their insurance doesn't cover these services, or they lack insurance altogether,” Robbin Cole, CEO of Pawnee Mental Health.

Without financial assistance, they either decline services or wait until they qualify for Medicaid, delaying their much-needed support. With this funding, Pawnee Mental Health can expedite services for children awaiting an SED diagnosis and adults not yet diagnosed with SPMI or ineligible for Medicaid. Providing support at the first signs of these conditions can alleviate symptoms while awaiting diagnosis.

"Health extends beyond the clinical setting, and we are pleased to donate to support Pawnee Mental Health’s Community Services programs that promote the well-being of both adults and youth in the communities it serves," said Colin Thomasset, CEO of Wheat State Healthcare.

"We are deeply grateful to UCare and Wheat State Healthcare for their unwavering support of our mission to uplift and empower our community. "This contribution will be impactful and provide the opportunity to address urgent community health needs,” Cole concluded.
