How I can help:

As one of the first points of contact for clients seeking mental health support, I provide a safe space for individuals to discuss their experiences, thoughts, and emotions. Many find this process daunting, as it may be their first time openly addressing such concerns. My role is to alleviate their fears, offer hope, and assure them that they are heard. At our agency, we aim to facilitate healing, growth, and empowerment over their symptoms.

My specialties:

My specialties include conducting Intakes and Diagnostic Evaluations, as well as providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

More about me:

Prior to joining Pawnee Mental Health, I held roles that focused on providing support and therapy to individuals involved in the criminal justice system and addressing sexual offenses. For nine years, I worked at a private agency in North Central Kansas, offering evaluations and therapy to adult men, women, and adolescents under parole, probation, and community corrections, who had committed sexual offenses. Before this, I spent a decade at Larned State Hospital in the Sexual Predator Treatment Program as a therapist. Earlier in my career, I served as the head of the Social Work department at the Larned Juvenile Correctional Facility. My educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Wichita State University and a Master's Degree in Counseling from Fort Hays State University.

Outside of work, I reside in Manhattan with my husband of 41 years. We have two adult children and four grandchildren, whose activities we love to follow and participate in. I'm an avid sports fan, particularly supporting Kansas State Football, Men's and Women's Basketball, and the Kansas City Chiefs. In my leisure time, I enjoy reading, crocheting, knitting, sewing, and cross-stitching. I'm also a dog lover and spend quality time with our two dogs, often lobbying my husband for another furry addition to our family.
