Jurdene Coleman, LCMFT

Director of Therapy Services

Jurdene Coleman, LCMFT

How I can help:

I’m Jurdene, a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist. I create a safe holding space for you to explore challenging parts of your life. I see my role as a therapist as a guide, walking just slightly behind you on your journey; it’s your decision which route we take, and I’ll support you through whatever you encounter along the way. I believe people are equipped with the tools to work through their problems, but sometime need a guide to get there. We often get stuck in unhelpful ways of thinking and doing because of past trauma. Our time together will focus on eliminating the grasp of past trauma and creating new ways to engage in relationships.

My specialties:

In my clinical practice I specialize in working with individuals and families of color who are navigating difficult life experiences as a result of a mental health diagnosis, loss, or other major adjustment. I work to create an affirming space for all clients regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or ability status. I have additional training in EMDR and Trauma Focused CBT. I have over ten years of experience providing individual, couple and family therapy in the greater Flint Hills area.

More about me:

I have been with the agency since 2014 as a full-time clinician, regional supervisor and now director of therapy and recovery services. I currently work directly with our Chief Clinical Officer implementing innovative programs to enhance the clinical offerings in each of our ten counties. My leadership philosophy is centered relational and collective values – I recognize the unique and valuable contributions of each of my team members and work to elevate their voices as we navigate growth as an agency. I also enjoy working with newly licensed clinicians, supporting them in developing confidence in their practice and solidifying their identity as a clinician through clinical supervision.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Kent State University and a Master of Science degree in health and human services from Kansas State University. I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in leadership communication at Kansas State University. In my “free” time, I enjoy 1000-piece puzzles, reality television, and board game nights with friends.
